If asked to think of someone who truly made an impact in improving an industry, one can typically think of a name rather quickly. These individuals have made significant contributions to industrial manufacturing and sustainability, lead the pack driving growth, but aren’t always the ones taking center stage. Our team wants to provide a place for those continuing the legacy of these predecessors to celebrate and remember them. We are proud to introduce Legacy Hall.
Through this Legacy Hall initiative, FTD solutions aims to shine a spotlight on these remarkable individuals, ensuring that their contributions are recognized and appreciated for years to come. In doing so, we intend to foster a culture of recognition and appreciation within the industries in which these individuals made an impact, encouraging collaboration, mentorship, and the continued pursuit of excellence.
The passing of Boris Eliosov, our dear friend, the CTO, and co-founder of FTD solutions, serves as the catalyst for us to initiate the Legacy Hall project. Boris was a quintessential creative problem solver, known for consistently delivering innovative solutions that brought positive outcomes to challenging problems. Among many other creative solutions, his pioneering work included the development of hydrogen peroxide treatment methods for the semiconductor industry, utilizing enzymes with remarkable efficacy.
Leading troubleshooting efforts for numerous seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Boris demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and professionalism. He spearheaded the analysis and solution development of water reclamation and wastewater systems across various semiconductor facilities worldwide. As a technical lead, he evaluated the capacity of a 5 MGD Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) system and orchestrated upgrades to meet site expansion requirements. Boris also served as the project manager and technical lead for the design and construction of the semiconductor industry's first Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) system. His expertise extended to coordinating the programming and detailed design of ultrapure water (UPW) and wastewater treatment systems for a pioneering semiconductor fabrication facility.
Boris left a legacy in the semiconductor industry, revered as a pioneering thought leader in waste reclaim and recycling processes. Mentorship is a significant aspect of Boris's legacy that cannot be overlooked. His influence as a mentor will likely continue to shape the lives and careers of many for years to come, enhancing an atmosphere of support, encouragement, and empowerment. Boris shared his wealth of knowledge and expertise, leading sessions at the Ultrapure Micro Conference 2018 Learning Series, specifically guiding participants through the intricacies of the "Site Water Model & Strategy Workshop."
Mentorship goes beyond simply imparting knowledge; it involves guiding, inspiring, and nurturing others to reach their full potential. His dedication to advancing industry knowledge was evident in his contributions to the Ultrapure Micro University Module, where he played a pivotal role in shaping modules such as "Statistical Process Control," "Continuous Improvement," and "Risk and Failure Analysis," underscoring his enduring impact on the education and advancement of semiconductor water treatment practices. Boris's dedication to mentoring not only contributed to the personal and professional growth of individuals but also fostered a culture of continuous learning and development within the community. Beyond his professional endeavors, Boris excelled in his hobby, achieving the title of International Chess Master and ranking among the top U.S. chess players.
The field of wastewater management relies heavily on the dedication and efforts of individuals like Boris who commit their time and expertise to improving it. While they may not receive the same level of recognition as movie stars or sports personalities, they are the unsung heroes of our civilization, playing a vital role in ensuring the sustainability and health of our environment. Their work is essential for protecting water resources, preventing pollution, and safeguarding public health. Without their tireless efforts and commitment, the effective management of facilities would not be possible. These individuals truly shine through their invaluable contributions to the betterment of society and the preservation of our planet for future generations.
Join us in honoring sustainability heroes! We invite you to nominate individuals who have made an impact in optimizing industrial manufacturing processes and sustainability management for well-deserved recognition. Reach out to us at info@ftdsolutions.net to share your nominations.
